Fahrenheit 451 is a SciFi thriller starring Michael B Jordan and Michael Shannon. It is an HBO film based on the novel by Ray Bradbury. Cert 15. Set in the future. Art, history, literature are destroyed. Could call it post apocalyptic. Preventing people from thinking for themselves. You may have seen The Book Of Eli, Oblivion, 1984, The Time Machine, Momentum, Blade Runner, The Matrix, The Purge, Total Recall, Running Man, Hunger Games, Demolition Man, Judge Dredd, RoboCop, Repo Man, In Time, Black Mirror, Lost. There is the saying "knowledge is power" These guys are firemen. Got to look at the back story about this world. There are rebels/resistance groups trying to preserve history and they are referred to as Eels. People's identity and individuality are removed. Sophia Boutella plays an informant. She is stunning. The internet exists. It is called the Nine. A civil war started this new revolution. The firemen have their own reality TV show. They act like corrupt cops, they don't put out fires but start them. Age of fake news and propaganda. Misinformation. They mention Benjamin Franklin. There is a film of the same name from 50 years ago. Best to see IMDb trivia. So many books are referenced. Great cast of actors.
I rented
Revenge from the local library. I put it into the DVD player and it is skipping. Barely got to the actual menu. This is an independent film. Starring Matilda Lutz. She has a fantastic body, as does her boyfriend. The protagonist is spending time away with her boyfriend in a remote location. This is an action thriller. Jennifer is American. Her playboy boyfriend is French. Two of his associates drop by. Interesting cinematography. Good cast of actors. Dome shots focused on her ass. The friends are interested in her. The boyfriend Richard isn't telling her everything. One of the chaps is creepy. Unable to handle rejection. There is a sexual assault. There are some weird camera shots. After an argument she does a runner. She is left for dead. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
You might also like I Spit On Your Grave, The Revenant, The Woman, Tomb Raider, Columbiana, Jungle. Some dialogue is in French with subtitles and the rest is in English. I will look up trivia and discussion. There is a hunting expedition. DVD skips in scenes. Batter the person that had it before. It has violence and nudity. Cert 18 Kevin Janssens plays the boyfriend Richard. Vincent Colombe plays Stanley and Guillaume Bouchede is Dmitri. A film by Coralie Fargeat.
